Old hats + pencil skirts + red lipstick = vintage-ness.
Who used to dress up with their best friends when they were little? We certainly did: bandits, pioneers, fancy ladies--you name it. Needless to say, as the years passed we fell out of that habit. What happened? Are we truly "too old" for dress up?
...Too bad for us if we are. The other day, we spent the night at some friends' house, and randomly decided to dress up like the 40's--and go all out. We scoured their dress-up bin (something that hadn't been done in years!) for outfits, looked up vintage hair tutorials on YouTube, and spent a good part of the day just "dressing up." Luckily, I had brought the trusty cam along (I hardly go anywhere without it, now!), and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a photoshoot.
We brought some suitcases along as props, and off we went!
^ Olivia (my sister)
^Rachael
^ Sarah and the umbrella (do you recognize it?)
^ I thought this one of Abby turned out pretty amazingly. She definitely looks authentic!
and...
^ A rather un-pro shot of the whole crew, with the also-dressed-up photographer. ;)
As you might imagine, this was too much fun to photograph--and you know what? It felt amazing to dress up again.
Any favorites?
