A Delightful Sunday...

...It being the LORD's Day, I thought an appropriate "starter" for this post would be a favorite verse:

"And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth." ~Deuteronamy 28:~

...Today was a delightful, restful Sunday. My little sister was baptised~a joyful day for all! After the service, we frolicked outdoors with our friend, Barbra R, taking photos and such. Here are a few:

And of Barbra...

May the LORD of all bless you today, on His day! =D

Many Thoughts Under my Hat...=)

Thank you all so much for taking the time to "vote" on the blog buttons. I'm please to announce the ~WINNER~:

...Number Three! Congratulations, Number Three. *Winks* So, this button will be ready to be "picked-up" in the next couple of days! Or you can just copy and paste this picture, and add the link. =D I would love it if you added this button to your sidebar! No one knows about my poor little blog..*grins* But, I'm happy with my 18 followers. :) Oh--

Please welcome: Ashley, (AJ) from AJ's Photography, to Virtuous Girlhood! She is an amazing photographer--go check out her blog! Thank you, AJ, for following. It made my day!

With that said and done, I would like to share something exciting that is happing over at God's Daughter, Miss Raquel's blog. (I hope you don't mind, dear, that I am copying this from your blog...I couldn't think of a better way to put it!) It is a "contest," a rather unique one at that! Please read this, and help me out:

"I (Lucia) just wanted to let you all know that I am in a contest given by a young lady, Miss Raquel, and for this contest, I'm supposed to let as many people know about her and her blog (God's Daughter) as I possibly can. I'm letting you know because I really think you'd enjoy her blog! She is a Christian young lady, striving to serve the LORD in her everyday life. She hopes that, through her blog, other people can be encouraged and blessed by her. When you go to her blog, comment on this post and let her know that you decided to follow and WHO you found out about God's Daughter from. Be sure to let her know that you found out about it from me...that's the whole contest. :) If *I* tell the most people, I get to win a prize! And what's fun about this contest is that if YOU become a follower, you can let other people know and join in the contest too!! So, head over to her blog as soon as you can! And she's requesting that only people who would really like to and enjoy following her blog will decide to follow it; otherwise, please discard this message. Oh, and you have to decide to follow before April 1st...that's when the contest ends. :)"

...So do you get that? =) I hope so. If you aren't a follower of Raquel's already (and if you are, hurry on over to her blog so that you can participate, too!), please head on over to her lovely blog, and consider becoming one. If you DO follow because of this post, then make *sure* to tell her in your comment (click on the highlighted link, and please comment on that post!) who you got the info from! if you don't, then I won't be entered. =( So do me a favor! =)

Again, with that said and done, I would like to share a few Spring photos which I have taken recently. Enjoy! =)

..May the LORD of All bless you today!

Blueberry-Streusel Coffee Cake...

As wafts of a heavenly scent make their way through the house, I believe that...

The time has come for me to share
yet another delectable recipe from the kitchen of Miss Lucia...

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake (with Streusel)

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 5/8 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Streusel Topping:

2/4 cup sugar
1/2 cups flour
4 TBLSP. melted butter
Dash of cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch Bundt pan.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the batter just until blended. Fold in blueberries.

3. Spoon half of the batter into the prepared pan. In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter in the pan. Spoon remaining batter over the top, and then sprinkle the remaining pecan mixture over. Use a knife or thin spatula to swirl the sugar layer into the cake.

4. Mix together streusel ingrediants, and sprinkle thickly on top.

5. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted into the crown of the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan over a wire rack. Invert onto a serving plate, and tap firmly to remove from the pan.

~You will be sure to enjoy this original delicacy!~

Awaiting Spring...

Oh, the heavenly bliss of
the coming Spring!
...Truly One of God's most marvelous Seasons...

Oh, the time when flowers are budding
New Life is found in the
 simpleness of a little thing...

Oh, the glorious sight of
 roses and violets, and lilies,
and peonies! All in a splash of vibrant color against
The quaintness of, perhaps, an old house...

Happy Wednesday,
dear friends!
