After weeks of hot, stifling weather, we are at last officially moving into Fall.
I woke up this morning with an unregretful sigh of bliss--instead of the beating sun cascading through my window, promising another ninety-plus degrees scorcher of a summer day, cool grey skies covered up "the eye of heaven" as if hey were ashamed of his recent naughtiness. Living in the northwest, I am not accumstomed to long draughts of heat, and thus, misty skies were a welcome relief.
Sunglasses, no more! Sweaters ahoy! And hot chocolate. And fall leaves. And pumpkins.
Sigh. Window light. Photography has been my passion of late, camera or no camera. What I mean by that is this: I scout out places and things which I believe have photographic quialities, and lay hem aside as a "rain check" for when I do get a camera. And I am very near purchasing one. :]
Adding to my happiness this{delightfully windy} morning: I can rest assured knowing thatmy former mess of a template is restored to order, thanks in many parts to Kendra. I was stumped over the problem of getting my header to the left sidebar, as you see it now, and she kindly came to my assistance with that. The rest, I did on my own, and I am rather pleased with the overall finish. How do you like it? Is it cleaner? Does it load faster? I personally like the tidier look. :]
This week has held many goings-on. Aside from the fact that school has begun, we currently have some friends staying with us while their parents embark on an anniversary trip. The other day, we had a tea party and dressed up. Yes, at sixteen years of age. I believe one should hold their childhood by its apron strings as long as humanly possible. ;) We took a walk in the summer twighlight, and Olivia snapped the photo that is now my header. I thought the lighting was amazing--we were out at the photographer's dream moment.
This morning, at around 7:15 a.m., our power suddenly went out, with a distinct farewell "pop!" A moment later, dozens of sirens could be heard, and we came to the conclusion that someone had crashed into a power line. o_O Two hours later, the lights came back on, and here I am. I am not sure if anyone was injured or not, but my dad was interviewed by the news. Hmm. Interesting day...
And now, my books beckon me. Isn't in crazy how time flies {when you're having fun}? I leave my typewriter to answer my math book's wooing.
Be blessed, friends.
What does today hold for you?
