A Lazy Saturday...

Okay, first of all, wasn't blogger's little 'mishap' A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G??!!

24 hrs. of no blogger. :P It was good for us all, I suppose, but I was worried about my two latest posts that suddenly "disappeared," for awhile there..and now it seems that all of your loverly comments posted in that dangerous time zone "after 7:30" are gone. Forever. *sniff* ..But, I know you love me. So, I will have their memory in my heart forever..::hugs:: ;)

You can always comment again, too. ;)

Today is a lazy day. It's Saturday. Not in the sense that I don't have anything to do...that could never be true. I have schoolwork, I have chores (yup, cleaning toilets! ;), I have phone calls to make, letters to write, and blogging to do. Nevertheless, it is still a lazy day. But I am loving it, and I can just sense that Summer is in the air. Don't you love content-i-ful days like these? (Yes, my own word..)

I have been in a jolly mood of late. Not only has "Lark Rise to Candleford" become an intense favorite show of mine (do I spy a movie review in the future??), but I have found myself falling deeply in love with some of the characters. I encourage you to look it up--it is a series of episodes about two little English towns, Lark Rise and Candleford..and all the mishaps that happen between the hamlet folk and town dwellers. <3 Oh, goodness~~I just love it to pieces!

Enough on that, though. Make sure, if you haven't already, to enter the photo contest my friend and I are co-hosting. C'mon, people! There are some amazing prizes to be had..you don't want to miss out! ;) Also, I have a score of giveaways coming up, which you will want to be sure on getting in to. ;) Stay tuned!

For this week, I have something grand to look forward to. Yes, it is the week of the Count of Monte Cristo ball. Yes, the one that our own Anna and Michaela shall be attending. No, my dress is not finished yet. School has been too persistent. But, many, many thanks to my friend Christina M. who is working on it a little for me, so that I will be sure to have it done in time! Don't worry...PICTURES when it is completed! <3 I just can't wait for the ball...you can read all about my first ECD dance here. I am fully expecting it to be quite as enjoyable..especially with two lovely friends to meet at last! I have made them promise to save me a dance. ;)

My youngest sister, Anne (9) loves to dress up "old-fashioned," too. Just the other day, I came upon her in the garden--dressed in her favorite cotten "pioneer" dress and pinafore; decking a hat with cherry blossoms. As usual, ;) I couldn't resist a photo..

What is something that you, my friends, are looking forward to this week? Are there any exciting plans for the summer underway? This birthday is special...it is my 'sweet sixteenth.' I cannot believe I am already to be sixteen. It just seems so...old! ;) When I was little, I could not WAIT for this birthday. I thought I would be all grown up, matured, and ready for anything. My, my...how thoughts can change. ;) But I am looking forward to "growing up," and though I don't know what the Lord might have in store for me, I am certain it is something simple breathtaking.

  1. Oooh! I positively LOVE Lark Rise to Candleford! It is one of my favorites (especially the three episodes of season two with Fisher Bloom :). Do you have any idea when season four is supposed to come out? It seems like it will take forever, doesn't it? :P

  3. I'm turning 16 this summer, too!! Oh yeah - LOVE Lark Rise!! I've only seen the first season... me and my mom were watching it but then my brother and dad made us stop to wait for them :) Hopefully we can watch the rest soon!!!

And Libby... season four IS out! We bought it, but haven't had time to watch it yet.

And I WILL be entering your photo contest, Lucia!! One question: For "shadows," can the object casting the shadow be in the picture as well??

  4. I LOVE "Lark Rise to Candleford"! I was introduced to it while still in Uganda (my mom sent me season 1), and I just (sadly) finished season 4 last week. I wish it could have continued!
    Yes, when is your birthday?
Thanks for your cheerful sunshiny posts!
