Confession: I am really, really, really, really {okay, I know, enough with the "reallys" already!} looking forward to this weekend. Why? Well, as I mentioned in an earlier post, this weekend is the Christian Heritage Conference. Not only will there be tons of amazing sessions to go to, a huge choral that my sister and I are currently working on four {rather difficult} songs for, and the Botkin family as featured speakesr...but..we are at long last going to meet FOR THE FIRST TIME our pen-pals of two years, and some of our bestest friends..the H. ladies (go visit their amazing blog!!), who will also be attending. Is that exciting or what?! Okay, I know, not really a "confession," as I've already told them hundreds of times how excited I am, but..*squeee!!!*
..Yeah. You get the picture. :)
Confession: I have a sore throat. :P Now, this is a "confession" because I am finally owning up to this sad fact. It is painful. Not so painful that I am unable to go to the conference {wild horses couldn't keep me away!! ..Like wild horses could do anything. I don't even live near any wild horses.}, but..dreadfully uncomfortable and..blech. Would you pray for me and my throat, friends? Okay, that sounds a little weird, but trust me: both myself and my throat need it. :) Because, the choral needs me! Without my boisterous vocals shrilling to the tree tops, the choir will wither away to nothing...
Hehe. Just kidding. More they will wither away if they hear me with this frog in my throat..:P
Hehe. Just kidding. More they will wither away if they hear me with this frog in my throat..:P
Confession: I have never been good at this "confession" stuff. I tend to ramble. Bear with me. Or politely exit the page.
Confession: We have the smallest TV in the entire world. No, I'm not complaining--we never watch TV. I personally dislike it, and do not feel a need. Few movies, as it is..I like them, but you only have so much time in a day, you know? But, think of a couch pillow from one of your sofas, and you have our TV. Yup, good ol' 1990 Sony Sharp..weighs a ton, has an enormous backside, and sports four channels. Gotta love home school families, right? ;)
Confession: I have recently become obsessed with spring skirts. I haven't been wearing my dark colored ones lately, nor the jean one. Nope, it's floral, cotton-y, calf-length time. :) What aisle do you think I make a bee-line to every time we visit Goodwill? Usually it's only to look, though, as I am striving to save my money.
Confession: ..Which brings me to my next paragraph. I hate spending money. Is that a good thing? I hope so. I am also a spoiled thrifter. I am hopelessly romantically attached to low prices, and most of the time you will not catch me paying over eight dollars for a pair of jeans, over six for skirts, or over seven for blouses. It's just the way I roll. Now, if it's something I am really in need of (like a dress for a wedding, a new pair of shoes, a gift for a friend, or a purse), I may allow myself to just take a small peek at the "50% off" sale rack at a regular store. :)
Confession: I have recently fallen in love with this song, even though it's a few years old. It is so adorable..just listen to it, and imagine a guy singing to his wife...
You Make Me Smile
By Uncle Cracker
You're better than the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler than the flip side of my pillow, that's right...
..Awwwe! I just think it's the cutest song ever. <3 It's so bouncy and catchy and and little..but at the same time, tender and romantic. *sigh* :)
Confession: I am running out of confessions..no, actually, not really. It's just that I noticed this post is getting long, my audience is fading, and I have a paper to finish.
..So I'll leave you with the song and a *hug* from me to you. I will be absent (guess why? ;) from this blog starting tomorrow, until May 1st. When I return, it'll be time to announce the winners of the "Spring Fling" {Giveaways}!! *throws confetti*
May the Lord bless you all!

I don't like to spend money either. :) I'm always shopping at thrift stores...pretty much the only time I go into a store like JCPenny or Khols (sp?) is when I go for fun with a friend.
ReplyDeleteI *love* that song! It's one of my favorites.
Hahaha! You crack me up, girlie. :) LOOOVE that song..one of my favs., too!! BTW, your new profile pic is GORGEOUS!! <3
ReplyDeleteKayleigh
Heehee...your "confessions" are soo cute!! <3 I love that song, too, and we have a small TV as well. ;) But it doesn't matter at all to me..like ya'll, we never use it!!
ReplyDeleteBe Blessed,
Jacee
Aww, Miss Lucia, you are so adorable. And I agree with Kayleigh--you are stinkin' beautiful!!! <3 LOOVE that skirt..wow!! The picture is awesome. :) And this post, too..too funny, dear!
ReplyDeleteIn Him,

*giggles*
ReplyDelete..Oh, Lu, you are terribly funny. I love it when you have hilarious random posts like this! I just love your blog and wish I could meet you some day...:)
You are a huge blessing to me through your blog. I read it every day!!
Your Sister in Him,
Melissa
P.S. (Yes, your new picture IS pretty!!)
Oh golly, I'm so sorry about your sore throat, I know how much of a pain they are. I'll be praying for you! =)
ReplyDeleteI love spring skirts. The colors, the length, the comfort, it's all just so wunderbar! Aren't second-hand stores the best? That's where my sisters and I get the majority of our clothes.
And I agree with you, I hate to spend money. Besides one movie and a few birthday presents for people, the last thing I spent my money on was my darling Alfie (aka. my accordion. Can you guess where his name came from. ;D), and it pretty much drained all of my savings. Now I feel very poor, and I don't like it. =P
Oh, I heard that song on a music video once, and I thought it was just great, although I haven't told anybody, because my family might make fun of me for liking a song written after the 1960's. ;D It's really sweet! I'm in love with it.
Oh, I have a bloggy question. You might be able to answer it, but if not, that's alright. How did you get the comment numbers to show up? Like, whenever I post this comment, it will have a 6 beside it, unless someone beats me to it. =)
Thank you for the comment on my blog, it made my day! =D
Okay, now I need to stop rambling, hehe. Have a great day!
LOL I love this post..you are too cute!! Made me laugh. And that can be hard to do. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are such an amazingly entertaining writer...HAHAHA!! Soo funny. :)
~Krystal
I love that song!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCute post!! :D
Lucia -
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. :)
That is so funny 'bout you knowing Spaffords and Kolbergs! It really is a small world...particularly in the Christian homeschooling community!
I will have to tell Betsy and Gretchen that I ran into you in blogland...we have been going to the same church for years! So hilarious that your dad introduced their parents! :D
Have a lovely weekend at the Homeschool Conference...wish I was going! :(
Looking forward to getting to "know" you better!
~SarahJayne
Lucia!!! I am so NOT kidding when I say this:
ReplyDeletei currently have a sore throat too, and I'm losing my voice (Not fun, praying for you to get better!)
I hate watching T too, and hardly ever do but my family, on the other hand, is obsessed. Sigh...
I am TOTALLY LOVING spring skirts too! I just got 3 new, brightly colored ones and I'm so excited to where them.
I too hate spending money and I really only do at Christmas time.
Lastly, I can't believe this! I randomly started humming You Make Me Smile lost week and have been obsessing over it for the last week. Love it.
So... my confession is that we are A LOT alike!
I am SO excited about this weekend too!! :) Yippee!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Don't get so sick that you can't make it :( Drink lots of hot tea and cough drops!!
Dearest Lu, We are SO SO SO SO excited to FINALLY meet you too! What a blessing that will be, and words can't express our excitement. We love you dearly and you are such treasure to all of us.
ReplyDeletePlease pray for us too - I (Dani) have a sore throat too... I heard you did the day I did. :( But we SHALL sing the Chorale!!!! :) :) :)We have been praying for you today!
Love you dearly, Lu!
Hugs,
~Dani, Amanda and Emily
Yay! I saw your comment and now I'm so so so happy! You don't know how so very extremely excited I am to get back in contact with you! Thank you for the sweet complement on my name :) I have always had a hatred against it, but at least someone likes it...hehe. Your name equals complete incredibleness. I have always loved the name Lucy, but it's very common in England, so that has always put a mark against it :P Lucia, though, is unique and elegant, beautiful and feminine. Marie complements it tremendously.
ReplyDeleteThe upgrade of HSB made me leave because everyone else I blogged with left. If everyone else had stayed, I would have probably stayed and just not been terribly happy, but since all the Inklings and most of my other blogging friends left, I figured it would be easier for me to keep blogging along with them if I was on the same site. The song you posted is my friend Victoria's favorite song. I have never gotten around to listening to it until tonight and you have my thanks for posting it. It is one of those songs that you can't help but smiling the whole way through listening to. I had better get going, but I will talk to you soon, hopefully! Since you confessed a multitude of things in your post, I will confess that I in return have also been stalking you of Google Buzz.
God bless!
