So. I lied. Accidentally. I truly thought I would be back sooner than this. But look! I have photo proof for you: I've been busy. Like, really busy. One of the changes in my life (spoken of in my last post) that has occurred is my photography career. What started as a for-fun hobby is now rapidly blossoming into a (not quite official) side business. In fact, I just launched a page, am working on organizing my portfolio and a website, and I have gazillions of folders of shoots to share with you all.
I have had the chance to photograph several weddings this year, and now, I want to share this one with you.
////
Elijah and Jessica, two sweet persons whom I am happy to also call my friends, were married in the backyard of a family friend (who also happens to be a mutual friend of mine. Gotta love small towns). It was to be an evening wedding, but morning already promised sky-rocketing temperatures--and Oregonians are easily wilted by heat.
But it was okay (and I'm going to be cheesy here; bear with me), because love was also promising to be at an all-time high. And Oregonians (at least the ones I am happy to know) are pretty dang good at this whole love thing. I might be biased, but, still.
The girls wore pink and the boys wore romeos, and there was a potluck + strawberry shortcake for dessert. Adjectives--homey, pretty, friendly, sweet--were monogrammed into the atmosphere. It was a joy to capture such a sweet love as Elijah + Jessica's.
These are so magical.

ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, what lens did you use to shoot with for this wedding? I'm shooting a backyard wedding in a couple weeks and I'm looking into renting an extra lens (I have a 50mm:). But these photos, so beautiful!

ReplyDelete((hugs!))
ps i think you post too many photos of yourself on Facebook and instagram which don't really show what you look like. come to grips with who you are, not what you want to be. :)
Hello Lucia, I just came across your blog and I simply love it. You have found the perfect balance in your photos of rich shadows but not too dark, which I find a lot of photographers do too much of or too little (for my personal taste). That along with the happiness and emotion you capture makes this post beautiful in every way! It might have also helped that you had an adorable couple and the bride's dress was stunning. ;)
ReplyDeleteLucia, your photos are so gorge and your design is so cute! I have recently relaunched, and it would mean a heck of allot if you would check out my little corner! http://h-anecdotes.blogspot.com/
