Oh! The Happenings of Late...

Goodness me! Has it really been THREE days since I last posted? *Dies* =)

...Today, being Friday, has been a sort of "laid-back" day--as laid back as it can be with Liv and I trying to juggle our "student" (it's his day to come) here, school, etc. But today was a "Bug Finders" day, and we all had fun seraching for, drawing, writing, and reading about bugs (as well as playing various games about them). But it is good to be finished for the day! *Happy sigh*

In about an hour, our sweet friend Miss Shelbe is coming over to spend some time with us, and watch:

..YES, the *five hour* version! *Blissfulness* Can you believe it? I have NEVER watched the real Pride and Prejudice at all! I am soo excited. =) We have really been in an "old-England" movie-watching state latley. Shelbe came over last Saturday, and we watched "Wives and Daughters..." alas, only the first part! We didn't borrow the second part, and so are left still hanging as the poor Molly sobs over her dear friend's engagement to the one she loves. =( But soon, we will watch the rest! =)

..Then, Liv and I watched "Cranford," "Emma," and "Persuasion." I cannot wait to watch "Return to Cranford," as well! "Cranford" is really such a cute and funny movie...highly reccomended!

Anyways, I must be off and running. Just another boring update (you are doubtless tired of hearing my latest watched movies and so forth, hehe...)--the books I am reading currently are "Holiness" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss (which I won in a giveaway over at Raquel's 'God's Daughter'), and "A Song for Your Honor," by Kay Evans (a book lent to me by Raquel, and recommended *highly* by some dear friends of mine). I am thouroughly enjoying both!

Oh--one more note: Miss Emily Hahner is having a *lovely* giveaway over at her blog, "Emily's Ponderings!" It really is a wonderful prize (or, shall I say, prizeS), and I urge you to check it out! All you have to do is follow, and comment HERE.

Blessings!

~There is a Friend that Sticketh Closer than a Brother...

'They sang, praising and giving thanks to the LORD, saying, "For He is good, for His lovingkindness is upon Israel forever." And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the LORD because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid...."
 ~Ezra 3:11~

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:

and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
~Proverbs 18:24~

"A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
~Proverbs 17:17~

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."
~Proverbs 27:6~

"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

~Proverbs 27:17~

...Thank you, LORD, for the blessing of my loving friends, who's names and faces may not be included in these pictures, but are most certainly included in my heart.

Snowy Memories...

A wonderful day of family skiing last week...

…left several cold, tired, but happy faces in the crowded back seats.

Praise the LORD for the snow, and fun memories such as these!

Blessings,

Teaching Days...

My days as a teacher are going well. We are now in our second week of tutoring little Matthew; we have not started with the other boy yet. It has been a fun and educational (of course) experience for all so far, and we have engaged him in several activities. I thought I would fill you in on some of the things we have come up with!

Matthew (or Vincie) is very interested in the “Titanic” and her sinking in 1912, so last week we checked out several books on the ship and wrote a short story about a little boy Matthew’s age who is saved from the sinking. This was Matthew’s *first* story, and so it was dictated to us as we wrote it down. It turned out very well! He also worked on a drawing to illustrate the tale, and we put together a little book for him to take home.

Today was bird day. We played a fact game about birds, and then set off on a nature hike to see if we could spot 10 different kinds. We did, and even saw a Blue Heron and Golden Eagle! Despite these great finds, Matthew dubbed the American Robin as his favorite. To celebrate this, he wrote a story by himself about the Robin, and how he felt when he saw it. After forming "The Bird Finders Club," we took a photo of him with the Robin we spotted behind him, and will be pasting that in another book, shaped like a birdie. :)

All in all, the day turned out fine, and we are looking forward to having our student back with us next week!

Beliefs are the center of the World.

Of life.
They are the center of mine, at least.

I believe in..

The LORD our God.
Christ's saving work on the Cross is the only way to salvation.
Modesty.
Life for the Unborn.
Man + Woman = Marriage.
Good food.
Prayer.
Friendship.
Modest fashion.

Resurrection Sunday...

I apologies that this is late! As you may have guessed, we were *quite* busy yesterday!

~Happy Resurrection Sunday!~

HE AROSE

Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave he arose; with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior,
Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!

 Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

And a few *fun* pictures I would like to share:

...Hoping you all had a blessed Easter! Hallelujah, He lives!
